This Blog....

.... starts with a letter from one half-brother to another; from Quanah, Texas to Sunderland, County Durham; from a Bagnall to a Higginson. The letter was passed down through the family and now the original writer and recipient are long gone their families have joined forces to post some family history research, photographs etc on this site. Our connection is Susan Judge, the mother of the Bagnall and Higginson who corresponded nearly one hundred years ago.
Susan Judge was born in 1842 in Athy, County Kildare, Ireland. She died seventy nine years later in County Durham, England. She married twice; firstly to James Bagnall and secondly to Thomas Higginson. Susan unites the Bagnall and Higginson descendants and this blog is here as a means of passing information from one part of the extended and extensive Bagnall/Higginson family to another. However, if along the way we pick up other members of the family then who knows what we may achieve?
